Grand View Manor Continuing Care Community is a home where residents want to live, families and community are engaged and welcomed and employees want to build a career.

Strategic Direction:

In 2018, with a renewed vision statement and a strong understanding of what we do well and what we are being called to do, we identified four Strategic Directions to lead us up to and including the 2023 year.  The implementation of each Strategic Direction is detailed over a four-year span.

  1. Enhance Quality, Compassionate Care
    Grand Five Manor is recognized for the compassionate care delivered to residents and families every day. We want to adopt new practices and approaches that honour the well-being of the whole person. We are committed to developing a place where people are comforted, loved and thrive in our care.Aspiration: Care is resident-centred, engages families and supports residents’ quality of life.

    Priorities: Become a LTC facility recognized for its Quality and Risk Management best practices; Adopt a philosophy of care that reflects a shift from task focused to resident-centred care; Create sensory spaces for dementia clients and daily opportunities for residents to be socially engaged; engage families and community members as members of the care team.
  2. Learn, Lead, Grow
    We recognize that we have developed significant expertise in the care that we provide and we are committed to continuous learning and improvement. We will strive to enhance the skills of our staff, foster the talents of our leaders and recruit others who share our passion and want to join our care-giving community as staff or volunteers.Aspiration: GVM is the best place to work in long term care, staff members are confident in their skills and joyful about their extraordinary team successes.

    We want our building to be a warm, spacious and welcoming environment that residents delight in calling home. Our focus is to design a space that responds fully to the needs of our residents and creates joyful spaces where families and the community can be together.Aspiration: Build a welcoming, well-functioning environment that feels like home, inspires exceptional care and provides a safe workplace.

    Strategic Priorities: Renovate existing spaces and add new spaces to provide residents with improved care, privacy and the ability to visit with family and each other; Design GVM to reflect our philosophy of care and our goal to better engage the community; Acquire the ceiling lifts, showers and other equipment needed to provide appropriate care; Improve dining spaces to support food safety and social interaction.
  4. Enhance Community Collaboration
    Remaining connected to community life is important to our residents. We will take our residents out to enjoy the abundance that our community has to offer and will bring our neighbours in to create vibrant life experiences for residents. We are committed to enhancing current connections and establishing new connections inside and outside GVM.Aspiration: Grand View Manor is recognized as an integral, valued, vibrant part of the community.
