Long Term Care at Grand View Manor
We offer 24-hour nursing home care for 142 residents. When vacancies arise, referral of new residents occurs through Nova Scotia Continuing Care, where a waiting list is carefully maintained.
Once Continuing Care determines that a nursing home is the right setting for your needs, Grand View Manor can be selected as a first, second, or third choice. Sometimes, if your need is urgent you will be placed in other facilities while you wait for a space at Grand View to become available.
We have a wide array of services to meet the needs of our residents.
Physical Care
We have competent and compassionate nursing staff that look after our residents’ physical needs. Medical care is provided by qualified physicians. Daily routine care is personalized and regularly adjusted based on needs and preferences. We also have registered staff that look after nutrition and mobility. Our auxiliary services provide environmental fit and comfort including hair styling onsite for added convenience.
Our residents are also under the supervision of qualified physicians.
Emotional Support
Our Resident Care service is key to providing a holistic support for residents and families as they navigate through the complexities of aging, living apart, and adjusting to a long term care facility.
Social Opportunities
Our Recreation team is one of the best in the province or even beyond. Our calendar of activities are always full and they also provide necessary one-on-one time with residents who are not able to join group activities. We have regular bus trips as well and we make sure that our residents are connected to our community. We encourage volunteer participation as well to provide meaningful interaction with our residents.
Spiritual Conversations
Our chaplain’s services are available for residents and family members.
Financial Administration
Grand View Manor facilitates board and lodging billings through our Finance Department. We also have extended services such as phone, cable, wireless, mailing, canteen, and many more.
