Covid-19 Update – April 30/2020

As of today, we are happy to say that Grand View Manor DOES NOT have any residents or staff identified with Covid-19.

We continue to work closely with Public Health, the Department of Health and the Health Authority, as well our dedicated staff to ensure that the most up to date policies and recommendations are implemented.

Grand View Manor staff continues to swab all residents with the onset of new symptoms.  Over the last week, staff have started having their temperatures taken mid-way through their shift to ensure that there are no sudden onset of symptoms and resident’s temperatures continue to be monitored twice daily.

We have limited the travel between our three facilities, keeping staff designated to each building.  We are following the Provincial guidelines in our assisted living facilities; social distancing, no visitors or gatherings and reporting any symptoms to 811.

Our housekeeping department has seen additional staff specifically hired to focus on ensuring that the high touch areas in the entire building are cleaned 4 times a day.  Orders continue to be a priority with PPE equipment, cleaning supplies as well as day to day items and in addition we have introduced a new cleaning product that will kill the Covid-19 virus that can live on surfaces.

The staff in the laundry department continue to ensure that all PPE cloth gowns, residents clothing, daily linens and supplies are laundered and returned to each Unit.  The department will begin using water soluble laundry bags that will help with any cross-contamination should there ever be a positive Covid-19 case.

Again, we would like to acknowledge the following individuals and businesses that have made donations to Grand View Manor.  These donations are greatly appreciated.

Grand View Manor Board of Directors – donation of flowers for Staff and Residents

Andrew Conrad – Youth and Family Pastor Berwick Baptist Church donated N95 masks.

Susan Monroe – family member donated 10 face shields.

Angie Selig – Donation of scrubs from Frenchies in Coldbrook.
