Covid-19 Update – April 16/2020

As of today, Grand View Manor DOES NOT have any residents or staff identified with Covid-19.

With ongoing Covid prevention and control developments coming from Public Health, the Department of Health and the Health Authority, our dedicated team is working diligently to ensure that we are implementing the most up to date recommendations and policies.  Last week, following a recommendation from the Nova Scotia Health Authority and the Chief Medical Officer of Health NS that stated all new admission to LTC were required to be self-isolated for 14 days, Grand View Manor moved forward to create an isolation Unit on the Wagner wing.  This Unit will now house all new admission from hospital that require 14 day self-isolation. In addition to this, on April 15th, all new admission to Long Term Care will now be swabbed for Covid-19.  We have also implemented the DHW/Public Health Office directive that all staff wear masks.

Grand View Manor continues to work closely with the NSHA in order to ensure the safety of both the residents and the staff during this time.  With 142 residents in our care, their safety and well-being and the health and safety of our staff are our top priorities.

We encourage you to reach out to your loved ones Unit to check in on them. Recreation staff are working hard to set up Facetime, as well as activities to continue resident engagement.

We would like to thank you all for your time, patience and commitment to Grand View Manor as we move through these challenging times.
