13th Annual Ticket Auction
Saturday May 10, 2008
We are in the midst of preparations for our annual Ticket Auction. It has been scheduled for Saturday May 10, 2008 Viewing from 11:00am – 1:00pm, with the draws starting at 1:15pm.
This is one of our most successful fundraisers, the proceeds of which are used exclusively for the benefit of our residents. We credit the success of this annual fundraiser to the generosity of our suppliers, community businesses, residents and their families, staff and volunteers. We appreciate the tremendous support you have given us in the past and ask for your help again this year.
Grand View Manor is comprised of 142 nursing beds, 30 Assisted Living Apartments in our Orchard View Apartments and 40 Assisted Living units located in Fundy Villa. Our population consists of residents from all over Nova Scotia.
Funds raised last year enabled us to purchase some new curtains, table clothes, rocking chair and coffee maker for the Activity room. The residents also continued to sponsor a child from Bangladesh. They have very much enjoyed corresponding back and forth with a six-year old girl named Nazma Khatun. Besides these large purchases, these funds are also used for smaller purchases including magazine and newspaper subscriptions, cable TV services, CDs and books, as well as band performances, van trips, craft supplies, baking supplies, bingo prizes and seasonal decorations.
If you would like to contribute by donating an item, you can leave your donation at the main reception desk. Appropriate donations would include crafts, new and gently used items. We would ask that all items be dropped off by Thursday May 8th to allow us time to set up.
Our goal has always been to make Grand View Manor a home we can all be proud of and we feel most fortunate to have such strong family and community support.
